Summary
Oregon Health Plan (OHP) is adding ICD-10 diagnosis code Z65.5 (Exposure to disaster, war and other hostilities) to the Prioritized List effective January 1, 2024, to allow coverage for domestic medical screenings for newly arrived refugees. Providers must use Z65.5 as the primary diagnosis when billing OHP for these specific screenings.
Action Required
By January 1, 2024: Billing team must update systems to use ICD-10 code Z65.5 as the primary diagnosis when billing OHP for domestic medical screenings for refugees. List any other diagnosis codes in secondary positions. CCOs should update systems to allow Z65.5 as a primary diagnosis and consider waiving network requirements for out-of-network providers using this code.
