Summary

Oregon Health Authority eliminates the requirement for non-emergent medical transportation (NEMT) brokerages to separately verify appointments with substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facilities and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program locations. Brokerages must now only confirm appointments directly with the OHP member, not with the clinic.

Action Required

Action needed
Immediately: NEMT brokerages and transportation providers must update policies to stop verifying appointments with WIC and SUD treatment locations. Staff arranging rides should only confirm appointments with OHP members directly. Update staff training and procedures to reflect this change.
