Summary
Oregon Health Authority is increasing Medicaid fee-for-service rates for air ambulance services to 80% of Medicare rates, with separate urban/rural rates based on pickup location and separate mileage billing starting July 1, 2024.
Action Required
Before July 1, 2024: Billing team must update fee schedules for Oregon Medicaid air ambulance services. Update rates for codes A0430, A0431, A0435, and A0436 to reflect new urban/rural rate structure. Configure billing system to capture pickup location (urban vs rural) to determine correct rate. Begin billing mileage separately using A0435 and A0436 instead of bundling into base rate.
