Summary
Starting October 22, 2024, Oregon Medicaid will provide diagnostic assistance through Licensed Practitioners of Healing Arts (LPHA) for youth requesting Behavior Rehabilitation Services (BRS) who lack appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes. Providers must first attempt to obtain diagnosis codes from existing sources before requesting assistance through a new form process.
Action Required
By October 22, 2024: For BRS authorization requests lacking ICD-10 diagnosis codes, billing team must first attempt to obtain codes from current providers, parents/guardians, or case managers. If unsuccessful, complete the new Request for Diagnosis Code Assistance form, attach all clinical documentation to the BRS Authorization Request form, and submit through established BRS authorization process.
