Summary
Oregon Health Authority is adding art therapist as a new allowable Medicaid provider type effective January 1, 2026. Art therapists licensed by Oregon's Health Licensing Office and certified by the Art Therapy Credentials Board will be able to provide billable services under the Behavioral Health Fee Schedule.
Action Required
By January 1, 2026: Oregon billing teams must update provider enrollment systems to include art therapists as allowable Medicaid provider types. Verify art therapist credentials include both Oregon State Health Licensing Office licensure and Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) certification before enrolling. Use existing Behavioral Health Fee Schedule rate methodology for billing art therapy services.
