CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is extending member cost share waivers for telemedicine visits and telephone consultations through July 24, 2020. After July 24, members will resume paying copays for non-COVID telemedicine visits, and CPT codes 99441 and 98966 will no longer be reimbursed.
Action Required
By July 24, 2020: Billing team must update system to resume collecting member copays, coinsurance, and deductibles for all non-COVID related telemedicine visits. Stop billing CPT codes 99441 and 98966 for telephone consultations after July 24 as these will no longer be reimbursed. Continue waiving cost sharing for COVID-19 related visits through September 30, 2020.
