Summary
Effective March 1, 2024, FEP PPO (Federal Employee Program) will add certain medications to their prior authorization list and implement site of care management for specialty drugs. The preferencing strategy for select medications covered under the medical benefit will also be updated.
Action Required
Before March 1, 2024: Billing team must review the full Provider News attachment to identify specific medications added to FEP PPO prior authorization requirements. Update prior authorization workflows and inform providers about new requirements for affected specialty medications. Monitor for claim denials if prior authorization is not obtained for newly listed drugs.
