Summary
CareFirst issued a correction clarifying that new medications added to the FEP PPO prior authorization list effective March 1, 2024 do NOT include site of care requirements, contrary to what was stated in their December 29, 2023 communication.
Action Required
By March 1, 2024: Billing team must review the corrected Provider News in its entirety to understand the accurate FEP PPO prior authorization requirements for newly added medications. Ensure staff understand that site of care restrictions do not apply to these new medication prior authorizations, contrary to previous communication.
