Summary
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield has launched a new Provider Directory Updates and Attestation self-service tool within their Provider Portal (CareFirst Direct). Professional providers in Commercial and Medicare Advantage networks must use this tool to attest and update their directory information every 90 days as required by federal law.
Action Required
Immediately: All professional providers must register for CareFirst Direct portal at https://provider.carefirst.com if not already registered. Begin using the new Provider Directory Updates and Attestation tool located under the CareFirst Direct tab to complete required 90-day attestations. Practice administrators should also update provider information in NPPES system when making changes in CareFirst tool. Review the on-demand training course available in the Learning and Engagement Center.
