Summary
Due to a cybersecurity incident at Change Healthcare, CareFirst Community Health Plan Maryland, CareFirst Advantage DSNP, and CareFirst Administrators have switched to Zelis for payment processing. Initial payments will be sent by paper check with EOPs, then transition to electronic payments once providers enroll with Zelis.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must monitor for paper checks from Zelis instead of normal electronic payments for CareFirst CHPMD, DSNP, and CFA claims. If not already enrolled in Zelis Payments Network, contact Zelis at 1-855-496-1571 to set up electronic funds transfer (EFT) and electronic remittance advice (ERA) services to resume electronic payments. Update accounts receivable tracking to account for delayed February and March payments.
