Summary
Due to a Microsoft/CrowdStrike outage on July 19, 2024, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield waived all prior authorization requirements for urgent or emergent services and inpatient notification requirements for that date only. Systems have been restored as of the update on July 23, 2024.

No action required - this was a temporary waiver for July 19, 2024 only due to system outage. Systems have been restored. Resume normal prior authorization processes for all urgent/emergent services and ensure inpatient notifications are entered timely going forward.
