Summary
CareFirst is temporarily shutting down their Provider Directory Updates and Attestation Tool starting July 17 to implement system enhancements. During this downtime, providers cannot submit electronic credentialing applications or directory updates and must use manual forms sent by mail or fax instead.
Action Required
Before July 17, 2025: Complete any pending provider directory updates or new practitioner applications electronically through CareFirst Provider Portal. During downtime period: Use manual Change in Provider Information Form for directory updates and submit new practitioner applications via paper forms. Mail to Administrator, P.O. Box 14763 Lexington, KY 40512 or fax to 410-872-4107. Note that manual processing may be delayed during transition.
