Summary

CareFirst has implemented a new security protocol requiring all existing Provider Portal users (except those created after August 18) to reset their passwords. The technical issue preventing some users from receiving multifactor authentication emails has been resolved, and users can now complete the password reset process.

Immediately: All billing team members and providers using CareFirst Provider Portal must reset their passwords by going to the login screen, selecting 'Need help signing in?', then 'Forgot password', and following on-screen instructions. After resetting, enroll in the new passwordless login option by selecting 'Register Passkey'. Contact CareFirst Help Desk at 877-526-8390 if assistance is needed. Failure to reset password will prevent access to the provider portal for claims submission and account management.
