Summary
CareFirst is discontinuing their Professional Provider Credentialing phone lines and picrequests@carefirst.com email on April 17, 2026. Three new dedicated email addresses are now available for credentialing status checks, roster requests, and provider file reviews.
Action Required
By April 17, 2026: Billing and credentialing staff must update all internal contact lists, templates, and bookmarks to remove phone numbers 877-269-9593 and 410-872-3500 and email picrequests@carefirst.com. Replace with new dedicated emails: CredentialingStatus@carefirst.com for status checks, ProviderRosterRequest@carefirst.com for roster requests, and ProviderFileReview@carefirst.com for file reviews. Include Provider Group Name, Tax ID, Billing NPI, and Rendering NPI in all email requests.
