Summary
Health Net Medicare Advantage members can now access preferred diabetic test strips and supplies (One Touch® by Lifescan and Accu-Check® by Roche) through network pharmacies at no cost, effective January 1, 2021. Non-preferred brands require prior authorization before members can obtain supplies at network pharmacies.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must understand that diabetic supplies for Health Net Medicare Advantage members are now available through network pharmacies. When prescribing non-preferred diabetic supply brands, providers must submit exception requests documenting why preferred brands (One Touch® or Accu-Check®) cannot be used. Update patient education materials to inform dual-eligible members to present both Health Net and Medi-Cal cards at pharmacy.
