Summary
Effective July 1, 2020, Medi-Cal providers must complete mandatory online training and attestation to receive payment for ACEs screening using HCPCS codes G9919 and G9920. Providers who have not completed the training will not be paid for ACEs screening services until training and attestation are completed.
Action Required
Immediately: Providers planning to bill for ACEs screening must complete the required two-hour online training on trauma-informed care and submit DHCS Trauma Screening Training Attestation with valid NPI number. Contact Provider_Services@healthnet.com to verify attestation status. Use approved screening tools (PEARLS for ages 0-19, ACE assessment for adults) and bill G9919 for scores 4+ ($29) or G9920 for scores 0-3 ($29). Claims must be submitted within one year of service date.
