Summary
CalViva Health Medi-Cal providers in Fresno, Kings and Madera counties must complete mandatory training and attestation to receive payment for ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) screening services effective July 1, 2020. Providers who haven't completed training will not be paid for ACEs screenings using codes G9919 and G9920 until training and attestation are complete.
Action Required
Immediately: Providers billing ACEs screenings must complete the two-hour online training at acesaware.org and submit DHCS Trauma Screening Training Attestation with valid NPI number. Use approved PEARLS screening tools for ages 0-19 and ACEs assessment tool for ages 18-65. Billing team must verify provider attestation status with Provider_Services@healthnet.com before submitting G9919 ($29 for scores 4+) or G9920 ($29 for scores 0-3) claims. Claims without completed training will be denied.
