Summary
Starting June 17, 2021, all Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) notifications and prior authorizations for Medi-Cal must be submitted through the provider portal only - fax submissions will no longer be accepted. Notifications are required for 1-5 visits per week, while prior authorization is required for more than 5 visits per week.
Action Required
By June 17, 2021: Staff must transition all CBAS notification and prior authorization submissions from fax to the provider portal for Medi-Cal patients in affected counties. Update workflow procedures to use portal exclusively. Register for webinar trainings in May. Fax submissions will be rejected after the effective date.
