Summary
Starting June 17, 2021, all Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) notifications and prior authorizations for Medi-Cal members in Fresno, Kings, and Madera counties must be submitted through the provider portal only. Fax submissions will no longer be accepted.
Action Required
By June 17, 2021: Billing team must stop submitting CBAS notifications and prior authorizations via fax for Medi-Cal members in Fresno, Kings, and Madera counties. Update workflow to use provider portal exclusively for all CBAS submissions. Train staff on new portal process using May webinar trainings. Remember: 1-5 visits per week requires notification only, more than 5 visits requires prior authorization. Fax submissions will be rejected after this date.
