Immediately: Providers must ensure they offer video telehealth for any audio-only telehealth services currently provided. Update telehealth workflows to obtain and document patient consent (verbal or written) in medical records before initial telehealth service delivery. Billing team must verify that Medi-Cal telehealth services are reimbursed at the same rate as in-person services. Front desk staff should confirm patient telehealth preferences and document consent in EMR.
