Summary
Starting January 1, 2024, Medi-Cal beneficiaries residing in Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DD) must enroll in managed care plans, with Health Net now covering all medically necessary services including professional, ancillary, and transportation services. Health Net will authorize services using Form HS 231 and provide 12 months of continuity of care for existing placements.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must verify Health Net managed care enrollment for all ICF/DD residents in Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Mono, Imperial, and Tuolumne counties. Ensure Form HS 231 is submitted to Health Net before billing for ICF/DD services. Update billing system to route ICF/DD claims to Health Net instead of fee-for-service Medi-Cal.
