Starting January 1, 2025, California physicians can now supervise up to 8 physician assistants (instead of the usual 4) when PAs are performing only in-home health evaluations and annual wellness visits without treatment or prescribing. When adding PAs for this purpose to Health Net networks, include 'In-home health visit only' in communications.

Immediately: When submitting practitioner add requests to Health Net for physician assistants performing in-home health evaluations, billing team must include the phrase 'In-home health visit only' in all communications to differentiate these PA requests from standard supervision arrangements.
