Starting January 1, 2025, California Assembly Bill 2129 allows providers to separately bill Medi-Cal for IUDs, contraceptive implants, and related services provided immediately after childbirth in hospitals or licensed birth centers. These contraceptive services can no longer be considered part of general obstetric procedure payments.
