Summary
FQHCs, RHCs, and Tribal Health Programs can now receive additional Medi-Cal Fee-for-Service payments for dyadic care services (preventive behavioral health services for children 0-20 and their caregivers) delivered on the same day, in addition to their standard PPS payments. Physicians, including psychiatrists, are now eligible providers for these services.
Action Required
Immediately: FQHCs and RHCs should review the Dyadic Services Billing Examples PDF to understand new billing procedures for dyadic care services. Update billing systems to capture additional Medi-Cal FFS payments for same-day dyadic services while maintaining standard PPS payments. Train billing staff on dual payment methodology for eligible dyadic services rendered to children under 21 and their caregivers.
