Community Health Plan of Imperial Valley is implementing new procedures to help members access non-specialty mental health services more easily. Prior authorization is NOT required for most covered outpatient mental health services, including office visits with therapists, psychiatrists, and other behavioral health professionals.

Billing team should be aware that prior authorization is not required for most covered outpatient mental health services for CHPIV members in Imperial County. Update staff training to inform them that members can self-refer to mental health providers.
