Summary
Effective March 25, 2026, HealthNet California is implementing a 10-hour daily cap for Personal Care and Homemaker Services authorization requests. Any requests exceeding 10 hours per day (combined In-Home Supportive Services and Personal Care/Homemaker Services) will be automatically denied.
Action Required
Before March 25, 2026: Billing team must update authorization request procedures to limit Personal Care and Homemaker Services requests to maximum 10 hours daily (combined with In-Home Supportive Services). Download the updated Personal Care and Homemaker Services Authorization Form from CalAIM provider resources. Train staff that requests exceeding 10 hours will be denied and members should be referred to Enhanced Care Management or primary care for assessment.
