Summary
Connecticut Medicaid has updated billing guidelines for Multi-Disciplinary Examinations (MDEs) for children in DCF custody. All MDE claims must now use ICD-10 diagnosis code Z65.3 and specific CPT codes for medical, dental, and behavioral components, with different billing requirements for FQHCs and hospitals.
Action Required
By October 1, 2015: Billing team must update system to require ICD-10 code Z65.3 for all MDE claims. FQHCs must bill T1015 with appropriate component codes on separate claims. Hospitals must use specific revenue center codes (515, 512, 900, 918) with corresponding procedure codes. Complete CT BHP registration before submitting psychiatric diagnostic codes 90791/90792.
