Summary
Connecticut Medicaid is implementing a new Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) payment methodology for outpatient hospital claims effective March 1, 2016. Mandatory workshops are being offered in December 2015 to train hospital billing providers on the new Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) requirements.
Action Required
By November 30, 2015 (virtual) or December 9, 2015 (in-person): Hospital billing staff must register for and attend mandatory APC workshops to learn the new payment methodology. Register at ctdssmap.com under Hospital Modernization. Limited to 2 attendees per provider for in-person sessions. Failure to understand new APC methodology will impact claim reimbursement starting March 1, 2016.
