Summary

Connecticut Medicaid is implementing four changes effective January 1, 2016: HIPAA compliant updates including replacement of J7302 with two new IUD codes (J7297 for Liletta, J7298 for Mirena), establishing Medicare-based fees for 18 previously unpriced procedures, adding new reimbursable codes, and updating place of service codes. Several new CPT codes will not be reimbursed including prolonged clinical staff services and confocal microscopy.

For Connecticut Medicaid patients starting January 1, 2016: Billing team must update system to use J7297 for Liletta IUD and J7298 for Mirena IUD instead of discontinued J7302. Add new reimbursable codes 90630, J7508, 77061, 77062, 77063 to fee schedules. Remove non-reimbursable codes 99415, 99416, 96931-96936, and 96376 from billing system. Update place of service code 19 for off-campus outpatient hospital services. Download updated fee schedules from ctdssmap.com.
