Summary
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Ohio Medicaid (MyCare Ohio) is launching an online portal enhancement in mid-July 2026 that allows providers to schedule and cancel Peer-to-Peer (P2P) conversations electronically through Availity Essentials, replacing the current phone/email submission process. This applies to physical health and behavioral health services; pharmacy P2P requests continue using existing processes.
Action Required
By July 15, 2026: Front desk and prior authorization staff should familiarize themselves with the new Availity Essentials P2P scheduling feature. Access the provider portal at https://Availity.com, select the MyCare Ohio payer space, and test the online P2P scheduling and cancellation workflow. No billing code or documentation changes are required. Staff should update internal processes to use online scheduling instead of phone/email for physical health and behavioral health P2P requests.
