Summary
Effective July 1, 2016, Connecticut hospitals billing partial day behavioral health intermediate care services must use specific HCPCS codes with modifier 52 instead of adjusting billed amounts. The system will automatically pay 50% of the normal allowed amount when the correct code combinations are used.
Action Required
By July 1, 2016: Billing team must update claims submission process for partial day behavioral health services in Connecticut. Use Revenue Center Codes 905/906/907/913 with corresponding HCPCS codes (S9480, H0015, H2012, H0035) and modifier 52 for partial attendance days. Update billing system to stop manually adjusting billed amounts as the system will automatically pay 50% when correct code combinations are used.
