Summary
Connecticut Medicaid has updated hospice fee schedules effective retroactive to January 1, 2016, implementing Service Intensity Add-On payments and two-tiered Routine Home Care rates. The default rate for Revenue Center Code 651 has been replaced with High/Low MSA rates, and new revenue center codes 551 and 561 have been added.
Action Required
Immediately: Hospice billing teams must download the updated fee schedule from www.ctdssmap.com under Provider > Provider Fee Schedule Download > Hospice CSV version. Update billing system to use High/Low MSA rates for RCC 651 for dates of service January 1, 2016 and forward, and add new RCCs 551 (Skilled Nurs/Visit) and 561 (Med Soc Servs/Visit). Monitor for future ID and reprocess notifications for previously submitted claims that will be impacted by these retroactive changes.
