Summary
Connecticut Medicaid will no longer accept paper claims effective October 1, 2016, requiring all providers to submit claims electronically through either the ASC X12N 837 format or the Provider Secure Web Portal. Paper claims submitted after this date will be returned to providers, except for out-of-state providers and special handling cases.

By October 1, 2016: Billing team must transition from paper to electronic claim submission for all Connecticut Medicaid claims. Set up Provider Secure Web Portal account at www.ctdssmap.com or establish EDI Trading Partner Agreement for ASC X12N 837 format. Ensure billing provider taxonomy codes and 9-digit zip codes are included on all claims to prevent denials. Contact Provider Assistance Center at 1-800-842-8440 for setup assistance. Paper claims will be returned unprocessed after the deadline.
