Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY) has updated the process for temporary client IDs for ACA enrollees. New eligibility notice formats went into effect May 14, 2016, and providers must use updated procedures to obtain temporary IDs within 45 days of the notice date.
Action Required
Immediately: Update front desk staff training on new HUSKY eligibility notice formats - must have both 'Application Results' page and 'HUSKY Temporary Proof of Coverage' page. Only accept new format notices dated after May 14, 2016. For temporary IDs, contact Hewlett Packard Enterprise at 1-800-842-8440 within 45 days of notice date and fax Application Results page to 1-877-413-4241. For services requiring prior authorization, claims can only be submitted with permanent IDs - delay billing until permanent CMAP ID is available.
