Summary
Hewlett Packard Enterprise identified system issues causing inpatient claims with new ICD-10 codes (effective October 1, 2016) to deny with EOB codes 0693 and 0920. The system was updated on November 29, 2016 to Version 34 APR DRG software, and previously denied claims can be resubmitted starting November 30, 2016.
Action Required
Starting November 30, 2016: Billing team must resubmit all inpatient claims that previously denied with EOB codes 0693 ('Invalid Principal Diagnosis') and 0920 ('3M Grouper Error') for stays with admission dates of October 1, 2016 and forward. Review denied claims reports to identify affected claims for reprocessing.
