Summary
The deadline for Medicare Alternate Attestation for Meaningful Use has been extended from February 28, 2017 to March 13, 2017. Medicaid Eligible Providers who cannot attest to Meaningful Use with Medicaid for 2016 can use this alternate Medicare attestation to avoid payment adjustments in 2017 or 2018.

By March 11, 2017: Eligible Providers who are Medicaid EPs and cannot attest to Meaningful Use with Medicaid for Program Year 2016 must register at the CMS Registration & Attestation site and complete alternate Medicare attestation before March 13, 2017. Providers must ensure their registration is confirmed by CT DSS (status shows 'Registration Approved by State') before proceeding with attestation. Allow at least 48 hours for confirmation processing. Failure to complete attestation will result in Medicare payment adjustments in 2017 (first-time attesters) or 2018 (returning attesters).
