Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (CMAP) updated several billing requirements including new procedure codes 77065-77067 and 97161-97168, new modifiers 76, BL, CA, JW, and restricted smoking cessation codes 99406/99407 to only be payable when performed during established behavioral health visits starting July 1, 2017.
Action Required
By July 1, 2017: Update billing system to include new procedure codes 77065-77067 and 97161-97168, and add modifiers 76, BL, CA, JW to system. For smoking cessation services, ensure CPT codes 99406 and 99407 are only billed with Revenue Center Code 914 when performed during established behavioral health visits - all other smoking cessation billing will be denied. Update provider training on these restrictions.
