Action Required

Action needed
By January 1, 2019: Billing team must update prior authorization workflow to distinguish between in-state Connecticut and out-of-state non-emergency ambulance transports. Remove prior auth requirements for Connecticut-only transports but maintain prior auth for any out-of-state transports. Ensure ambulance providers maintain complete medical necessity documentation as required by Connecticut General Statute Section 17b-259b, as claims may be denied without proper documentation.
