Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY Health) now requires all performing providers at Ambulatory Surgical Centers, Rehabilitation Clinics, and Free-Standing Renal Dialysis Clinics to be enrolled in CMAP and have their NPI included on all claims. Claims without valid performing provider NPIs will be denied starting March 1, 2019.
Action Required
Before March 1, 2019: Billing team must ensure all performing providers (APRNs, behavioral health clinicians, dentists, nurse midwives, physicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, physical/occupational/speech therapists, audiologists) are enrolled in Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) via www.ctdssmap.com Provider Enrollment Wizard. Update billing system to include performing provider NPI on all Connecticut Medicaid claims. Organization administrators must associate all providers to clinic NPI using 'Maintain Organization Members' panel. Claims submitted without valid performing provider NPIs will be denied.
