Summary
The Department of Social Services removed service code H2019 (Therapeutic behavioral services) from the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) mandatory list, making EVV optional for this code effective immediately. However, four other autism waiver service codes (1302Z, 1304Z, 1396Z, 1404Z) remain mandatory for EVV as of March 3, 2019.
Action Required
Immediately: Update billing systems to reflect that H2019 (Therapeutic behavioral services) no longer requires Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data capture - this is now optional. Ensure autism waiver providers can access H2019 services and prior authorizations in the Santrax system for billing. Verify that EVV remains mandatory for codes 1302Z, 1304Z, 1396Z, and 1404Z per March 3, 2019 requirements.
