Action Required
Immediately for Connecticut Medicaid: Stop billing discontinued codes 99446, 99447, 99448, and 99449 for e-consults. Use CPT 99451 ($34.28) for consulting specialists and CPT 99452 ($17.34) for referring providers. Update billing system to enforce 14-day face-to-face visit restrictions and once per 14-day period limits for code 99452. Verify all e-consult specialists are enrolled in Connecticut Medicaid provider network.
