Summary
The Department of Social Services corrected an error where dental procedure codes D0145 and D1206 were inadvertently end-dated without notice. These codes are now reinstated through May 31, 2019, with CPT 99188 replacing them starting June 1, 2019. Claims previously denied for these codes after April 1, 2019 should be resubmitted.
Action Required
Immediately: Resubmit any claims using CDT codes D0145 and D1206 that were denied for dates of service on or after April 1, 2019. Starting June 1, 2019: Replace D0145 and D1206 with CPT code 99188 for topical fluoride varnish application and oral health assessments. Update billing system and encounter forms to reflect the code transition for non-dental licensed health professionals in the ABC Program.
