Summary
Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) is discontinuing coverage for electronic consultation CPT codes 99451 and 99452 effective January 1, 2020. All claims submitted with these codes for dates of service on or after January 1, 2020 will be denied.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2020: Billing team must update system to block CPT codes 99451 and 99452 for Connecticut Medicaid claims with dates of service January 1, 2020 and forward. Remove these codes from encounter forms for CMAP patients. All claims with these codes will be denied after the effective date.
