Connecticut Medicaid (CMAP) temporarily expanded telemedicine coverage for PT, OT, and speech therapy services for established patients only during COVID-19 emergency, effective March 20, 2020. This allows specified therapy codes to be billed via synchronized telemedicine using modifiers GT or 95.

Immediately: Billing team must update system to accept telemedicine billing for specified PT/OT/Speech codes with modifier GT (healthcare facility) or 95 (home) and Place of Service 02. Update encounter forms to remind providers that evaluations, reevaluations, group therapy, and new patient services cannot be billed via telemedicine. Ensure documentation requirements are met for all telehealth services.
