Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (CMAP) automatically extends home health prior authorizations expiring in June 2020 and subsequent months by 60 days during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Providers will receive new authorization letters with updated end dates and do not need to request extensions during this temporary period.

No immediate action required during emergency period: Home health providers should monitor for new authorization letters from CHNCT and Beacon Health Options with extended end dates. Once DSS notifies in writing that the public health emergency has ended, resume normal reauthorization processes by submitting requests prior to the most recent authorization approval date.
