Summary

During the temporary COVID-19 period, inpatient behavioral health admissions don't require prior authorization, but hospitals with existing Beacon Health Options authorizations from after April 1, 2020 must continue updating them. Claims with EOB code 3000 should not contact providers as DXC is working with Beacon to correct authorizations automatically.

Immediately: For behavioral health inpatient claims with EOB code 3000 'Prior Authorization Services are Cutback or Exhausted' - do NOT contact DXC Provider Assistance Center or Beacon Health Options. Wait for automatic correction. For admissions with Beacon authorizations after April 1, 2020 that haven't been billed yet, continue working with Beacon to update authorizations for entire admission.
