Summary
Connecticut Medicaid now allows physical therapy and occupational therapy start-of-care evaluations to be performed via telemedicine for home health agencies, expanding previous COVID-19 temporary telemedicine coverage. Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is suspended for these therapy services, requiring providers to submit claims through Gainwell Technologies portal instead of Santrax.
Action Required
Immediately: Home health agencies must update billing workflows to submit PT evaluation (RCC 424) and OT evaluation (RCC 434) claims through Gainwell Technologies provider portal at www.ctdssmap.com instead of Santrax system when services are provided via telemedicine. Access prior authorizations through Prior Authorization Search function. Initial medical and behavioral health evaluations must continue to be performed in-person.
