Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (CMAP) updated payment rates for status indicator G and K procedure codes effective July 1, 2021, and introduced new billing requirements for pediatric inpatient psychiatric services using revenue code 169 for a 10% rate add-on through June 30, 2022. The policy also strongly recommends using ICD-10 Z codes for social determinants of health in non-primary diagnosis fields.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to use revenue center code 169 for pediatric inpatient psychiatric services authorized by behavioral health ASO to receive 10% rate add-on. Add ICD-10 Z codes for social determinants of health in secondary diagnosis fields only (never primary). Update organ acquisition billing rates for kidney ($83,588), heart ($109,318), and liver ($174,966) effective July 1, 2021. Ensure Griffin Hospital and Bristol Hospital complete re-enrollment by September 6, 2021 and October 24, 2021 respectively to avoid claim processing disruptions.
