Connecticut Medicaid will now reimburse for third dose COVID-19 vaccine administration (Pfizer or Moderna) for immunocompromised individuals, effective August 12, 2021. New billing codes 0003A and 0013A are available at $40.00 reimbursement rate for eligible HUSKY Health members and other specified coverage groups.

Immediately: Billing team must add new codes 0003A (Pfizer 3rd dose) and 0013A (Moderna 3rd dose) to billing system with $40.00 rate for Connecticut Medicaid patients. Verify patient immunocompromised status and ensure at least 28 days elapsed since second dose. Pharmacy providers must use NCPDP code 420-DK with value 7 for medically necessary claims.
