Summary
Effective April 16, 2022, dental hygienists are no longer permitted to administer COVID-19 vaccinations in Connecticut. Claims for COVID-19 vaccinations submitted by dental hygienists will be denied.
Action Required
Immediately: Dental practices and FQHCs must stop submitting claims for COVID-19 vaccinations administered by dental hygienists as these will be denied. Ensure only authorized providers (not dental hygienists) administer COVID-19 vaccines. Review Connecticut Department of Public Health's approved provider list at portal.ct.gov/DPH for eligible vaccination administrators.
